Due to high humidity in this attic, mold formed. Our customer needed corrected ventilation and a spray treatment in order to make sure the mold didn't come back. Included was fogging the whole attic space with an anti-microbial solution.
Our customer moved out of state and thru coordination with his realtor we were able to help him with his attic mold. Once the inspection was completed mold needed to be cleaned in the attic. The soffits were blocked not allowing adequate air flow. We used Mold X2 and Mold X2 Botanical products to clean up the mold on the trusses and sheathing. We also clear the soffits a and debris or insulation and added new rafter venting for a direction flow of air. The home was sold and our customer was happy to have this completed.
Here in Michigan we have some cold winters! This moisture-ridden sheathing read 100% on the moisture meter at the time of inspection and the cold winter temperatures had turned it to frost! Mold was present and as the attic was also having ventilation issues, it was only a matter of time before the mold took over completely. After the ventilation was corrected, we were able to install baffles and spray-treat utilizing RMR-86 and bring this wood back to life!
