Our customers home was on the market for sale and a home inspection showed mold in the attic. The attic had a white pigment encapsulation painted on, and the buyer's inspection shows mold was present. Our company came in to remediate the mold and also removed all insulation. The attic needed some truss work completed for support so wanted to reinsulate afterwards. We cleared all soffits of debris and added new rafter baffles to correct the ventilation.
Our customer started with a mold issue and when we were at that appointment, our inspector noticed that the insulation was a little on the low side. This wasn't a good time for our customer and they really just wanted to deal with the mold. After taking care of this project, our customer decided the time had come to re-evaluate and possibly do some upgrading with the previously noted inadequate insulation. We were able to upgrade this attic space with air sealing, re-insulating to R-60, and as the photos show, ensuring baffles were placed to allow the attic to 'breathe.' This combination will allow for a mold-free attic space.
After just buying their home, our customers were armed with a home inspection report that alerted them the attic needed attention! On the roster for this game? Adding insulation for a higher R-Value and correcting ventilation. We utilized blockers and baffles for their soffits after cutting in, enlarging & replacing. Now, this attic is insulated and breathing as it should be!
The dark stains from this mold were easily remedied with RMR-86. The spray treatment removed all the staining and brought this sheathing back to life! Placing baffles appropriately ensures air intake from the soffit vents.
Our customer purchased a home as is. The home had a musty smell due to Mold in her attic space. We cleaned the attic with RMR-86 and RMR-141 which will remove the stain and kill the mold.
